Privacy notice under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK)
Last updated: September 23, 2026 · Draft: a legal review will be carried out before publication.
What information do we collect?
- Account: your email address (for sign-in only; never shown publicly) and, if you sign in with Google, the name Google shares.
- Profile: display name, username and, optionally, hometown and a short bio. These are public.
- Traces: the text you write, your photos, and the location and date you choose. These are public.
- Reports: the trace you report and the reason. Only the moderators see this.
Hidden information in your photos
Photos taken with a phone carry information such as location (GPS), device model and sometimes a serial number. This information is read once, only to suggest the trace's location and date, and is then completely removed when the photo is re-saved. Only the cleaned copy is stored on the server.
If you tick “Show approximate location”, the location is saved rounded to a precision of about 1 km; the exact point is never stored.
Where is the data stored?
Account, trace and photo data is stored on servers located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany) (Supabase). Your account, trace and profile data is not sold for advertising purposes or shared with advertising companies. The Google ads shown on pages operate solely according to your cookie preference (see below).
Your rights
- You can delete your traces from your own page at any time; their photos are deleted with them.
- You can request the deletion of your account and all your data.
- You can exercise all your rights under Article 11 of the KVKK (information, rectification, erasure, objection).
Send requests to: [email protected] (subject: KVKK request). Requests are answered within 30 days at the latest.
Cookies
Two essential cookies are used to keep you signed in. So that the site can stay free, Google advertising (AdSense) and measurement (Analytics) cookies may be used; these are set only if you give permission in the cookie banner. Details: cookie policy.
