Terms of use
Last updated: September 25, 2026 · Draft: a legal review will be carried out.
1. The service
Veniterra is a free platform where members share their observations, experiences, directions and memories about places (“traces”). Anyone who uses the site is deemed to have accepted these terms and the community rules.
2. Membership
- To leave a trace, you must be at least 18 years old and accept the community rules.
- You are responsible for the security of your account; an account may not be opened on someone else's behalf.
- Veniterra is not a dating or meet-up platform; accounts used for that purpose are closed.
3. Traces and licence
- You keep the rights to the text and photos you leave as traces.
- Unless you choose otherwise, you share your trace under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence; you grant Veniterra unlimited, free-of-charge permission to use it in order to display the trace on the site, generate share cards and make it available to search engines.
- You may only share content you hold the rights to. Other people's photos, advertising, misleading information and personal data (including photos in which another person's face is clearly visible, without their consent) may not be shared.
- You can delete your trace at any time.
4. Moderation
Traces that break the rules are reviewed, following a report or on our own initiative, and may be hidden or deleted; in the case of repeated violations, the account is suspended.
5. Accuracy of information
Traces are personal experiences; roads, weather, prices and opening hours can change. Before making decisions that affect your safety (mountain hikes, the sea, weather conditions), check official sources. Veniterra is not liable for any damage arising from decisions made on the basis of information in traces.
6. Advertising
So that the site can stay free, third-party ads (Google AdSense) may be shown on pages. Ads are identified as “advertisement” and do not affect the ranking of traces. For your cookie preferences, see the cookie policy.
7. Changes
The terms may be updated; significant changes are announced on the site. For questions, please contact us.
