I came, I saw, I experienced.

Veniterra is an open travel memory where people who go somewhere leave what they saw, what they lived, their directions and their memories there as “traces”. What guidebooks can't tell you, you read in the words of people who have really been there: at what hour the morning light is beautiful, what people drink at the village coffeehouse, which stretch of the trail is muddy.

Why does it exist?

Much of the travel information online is written for advertising and consists of texts that repeat one another. On Veniterra, every trace carries a person's name; it comes with a place, a date and a photo. That way, you know who is behind what you read about a place, when it dates from and what experience it comes from.

What will you find?

What is it not?

Veniterra is not a dating or meet-up platform. Interaction is about places and experiences: you say thanks for traces, follow places, ask questions. Features such as people search, age/gender filters or private invitations to meet do not exist and never will.

Who owns the content?

Traces belong to their authors. Unless the author chooses otherwise, traces are shared under CC BY-SA 4.0: anyone may quote them by giving the author's name and a link. Place summaries are taken from Wikipedia (CC BY-SA), with attribution.

How does it stay afloat?

Veniterra is free. To cover server and development costs, ads may be shown on pages; ads are kept apart from the content and do not affect the order or visibility of traces. For details, see the cookie policy and the privacy notice.
