Community rules
Veniterra is the world's shared memory. For this memory to stay trustworthy, there are a few simple rules.
🧭 Veniterra is not a dating platform
Flirting, dating, and romantic or sexual advances are forbidden. Here, people interact through places and experiences; individuals are not rated or matched. Phone numbers, email addresses, social media accounts and where you are staying may not be shared in comments, on your profile or in I'm There questions; this information is hidden automatically. Behaviour that breaks this rule can be reported under “Flirting or harassing behaviour”. Zero tolerance: at the first confirmed violation, access to comments and I'm There is removed; if it happens again, the account is closed.
🔞 Minimum age: 18
You must be over 18 to join Veniterra.
👣 Share what you really lived
Let your traces be things you saw, lived or know yourself. Don't share someone else's photo or writing as if it were your own trace. No made-up information, no fake reviews, no advertising.
🧭 Make your directions useful
When you write directions, say when you went; roads, opening times and prices change. If you're not sure about something, don't hesitate to say “I think”.
🔒 Respect other people's privacy
If the faces of people you don't know, children, licence plates or home addresses are recognisable, ask permission before sharing or remove that part. Don't share anyone's personal information.
🌍 Leaving it to the world
Unless you choose otherwise, your traces are shared under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence: anyone may share them with credit to you. You thereby confirm that you are sharing photos you took yourself and texts you wrote yourself.
⚑ If you see a problem
Under every trace there is a link that says “Is something wrong with this trace?”. Reported traces are reviewed; those that break the rules are removed, and repeat offenders' accounts may be closed.
